“Scrap Bin” is a textile collection exploring pre-consumer textile waste through transforming it into new fabric compositions. I collected unwanted textile waste from Massey’s fashion and textile departments to ensure it’s effective use and to keep it local.
My work pushes the boundaries of what up-cycling can look like through print, natural dye & embroidery to create a dialogue between pre-consumer textile waste and the formal elements of colour, shape and placement.
My collection aims to raise awareness around the textile waste industry as well as the potential within the scraps.

Final Presentation of work

The intended end use of my fabric is open ended. This extends the life-cycle of the fabric by not limiting it’s purpose.
